Casement windows are a unique window style that offer superior energy efficiency, maximum light, and increased ventilation compared to other selections. Casement windows have a modern aesthetic appearance, but a more classic look can be achieved by adding divided lite bars (grids).
A casement window sash is hinged on the left or right side. Most are operated by a crank mechanism usually located on the lowest part of the window frame and open to the exterior. But some types have a handle that will allow you to push open and pull closed manually and open to the interior or exterior.
Because casements have one sash in a frame, they can offer large, uninterrupted expanse of glass allowing more light and amazing views. When closed, a casement will prevent air infiltration better than other types of windows and when open allow more fresh air coming into the home.
